Production lines for storage tanks and silos
IMCAR builds complete production lines for storage tanks and silos, designed for the vertical fabrication of medium and large vessels from coil or plate. These systems serve the food and beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, and oil and gas industries and can be used for both shop-built vessels and tanks erected directly at the customer’s site.
Building tanks vertically changes the economics and workflow of the fabrication process. The shell is formed and welded course by course at ground level, eliminating the need to work at height while reducing the number of operators required.
The vertical process also means stainless steel does not have to be dragged across the shop floor. This eliminates the need for protective film, prevents scratches, and makes it possible to achieve a satin finish more cost-effectively.
Shell courses of different thicknesses can be joined without internal rings, eliminating the barrel effect that can occur with stacked courses and helping maintain the correct tank geometry.
IMCAR storage tank and silo production lines can process special steels and materials up to 25 30mm thick. The stations are movable and can be installed directly at the fabrication site, making the system suitable for field-erected tanks and silos as well as in-shop production.
By combining vertical forming, welding, half-pipe jacket production, and other tank fabrication operations in an integrated system, IMCAR provides a turnkey solution for storage tank and silo manufacturing focused on production efficiency, workplace safety, and consistent fabrication quality.
